A prolific Genoese maker, Paolo De Barbieri (1889-1962) made over 350 instruments in his 40-year career. This is a fine example of his early work, a highly-revered period that displays great attention to detail, refinement of style, and, as you can hear from this video, a gorgeous, sophisticated sound.
